Who we are
Bobby Clark, Jr. is the founder of Clark Legacy Foundation.
From the founder . . .
I’m Bobby B. Clark, CEO of Clark Legacy Foundation, a nonprofit organization driven by purpose and passion. I’ve always had a knack for multitasking and building strong relationships with stakeholders, and my background has blessed me with countless opportunities in team building, leadership, and community engagement.
I was born in Cheraw, South Carolina, and raised in Laurinburg, North Carolina. My journey so far has sharpened my communication and conflict management skills, helping me thrive in diverse, multi-generational spaces where flexibility and empathy matter.
I got my start in the construction industry as a carpenter apprentice for a commercial contracting company. Thanks to my high standards and strong motivation, I soon transitioned into the role of Superintendent, where I gained hands-on experience managing active construction projects.
With over 35 years of experience in construction, I’ve learned that success—just like a solid building—comes from following through to the very end. I truly believe that charity begins at home. My goal has always been to serve and uplift low-income and disadvantaged families in our communities and beyond.
I know that real change starts with me. I lead with the belief that caring is sharing, and I pour my energy into improving the well-being of individuals, children, and families—locally and around the world. Communication and a positive attitude help me navigate challenges and support those around me with purpose and heart.
Living Legacy (Dad)
Mr.Thomas Lewis Clark Sr.
aka: Bobby Clark Sr. (The House Wrecker known for his singing voice in gospel music).
Born is Laurinburg NC on May 22, 1937
Parents the late Mr. Alexander B. Clark and Mrs. Wilhelmina Clark
I started singing at age 16, thanks to my mother. She kept me in church and encouraged me to continue singing although times were hard back then, children had to help the family by working in the fields and the farms. My father taught me true core values of life. I’ve passed the same core value to my family.
The South Land Singers was the first group I started singing with. The Gospelaters was started and later became Bobby Clark Sr. and The Gospelaters. The sang over 60 years.
My first recording was on a 45 record, Wait Till My Jesus Come / He’s Wonderful. I’ve recorded several projects over the years and have traveled across the country singing, doing what I love to do. My greatest love is singing, my family and friends halve always said, Don’t give Booby Clark a microphone because he don’t know when to stop singing and will wreck your house. This is how I received the name “House Wrecker”.
I can look at my children, family and friends I’ve trained or given a the opportunity to be apart of something positive to fulfill their dreams in the music industry. Proverbs: 22:6 “Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it”
I’ve always helped others, giving an opportunity for them to be apart of something positive to keep them out of the streets, providing a father figure, role model, mentor, teacher, counselor, provider, listening ear, a shoulder to cry on, being firm when required.
I’ve always looked beyond a person’s faults and not judge them, for we all have our own faults and not wanting to be judged.
